"Guess the experts who designed it were right. Baby somehow seems to know what to do with the straw, although at this time she does spill or spit out more water than swallow judging by how wet her shirt gets. Only reason its not 5 stars is the workmanship on the straw could be improved. Of the 2 we purchased, one of them has a more pronounced manufacturing defect than the other where both straws are not quite smooth and has extra silicone on one side."
